What is Indian Premier League (IPL)?

Indian Premier League (IPL) is also recognized as Vivo Indian Premier League. It was launched by the BCCI (Board of Cricket Council) and was an idea of the ex-commissioner of the league and founder Lalit Modi. This is a cricket tournament is based on the unconventional layout of Twenty20 cricket which is played every year in the month of April and May. This year is special for the fans and supporters of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Both the colossal team studded with the evergreen cricket heroes are back with the bang after two years of suspension. For those who are unaware of this issue; both the teams were suspended as a few chief members of these respective teams were found guilty of match-fixing and corruption charges.

Note – The tournament has begun and is being broadcast on the various channels of STAR India. Previously the media right were with SPN India but now televise is done by STAR and schedules are governed by the IPL’s body judgment.
